LAST ENTRY

What a whirlwind of activity.
We arrived home to chaos; our carpets were being cleaned and my niece was doing some last minute cleaning. By the time everyone left, the carpets were wet and most of our furniture was gone. We spent the next 10 days cleaning every nook, cranny, drawer, cupboard and closet from top to bottom. We then got to the 16 boxes waiting for us in the garage and started the entertaining job of unpacking, washing and drying all pots, pans, utensils and every piece of clothing. Funny how that musty boat smells wasn't too tolerable anymore. Our clothes all got stacked up in the closet since we gave my sister the bedroom furniture. Our second day back found me at a furniture store ordering a full bedroom outfit. The saleslady couldn't believe I had just stepped off a boat for the last 3 years. I ordered the first real bedroom furniture I've ever had and it should be arriving in the next couple of weeks.

The living area

A painter has been lined up and living room chair, ottoman and couch is on order.

Bob's New Den My Den

Bob had to completely redo his den and he put it together beautifully. A blonde-wood futon, blonde entertainment center and cordovan leather chair. He's sitting there watching TV as I write.

Tiger , our best bud

And, oh yes, our cat Tiger has taken to us wonderfully once again, We are all 3 best of buds and he took to sleeping on my head on day 3.

Where I prepare my Lucky Charms Where we eat our Lucky Charms

With the busy-ness of getting all of this done and seeing the family and friends, I haven't had much time to miss the boat. Now, as things calm down a little and I have a few free moments to ponder life, I find that I can be quite happy back on land.

Our view out the backdoor

Ask me again when the first snowfall of the year appears and I know it will be a different answer. I will say this: We had a beautiful 3 years. I wouldn't trade it for anything. The experiences and memories can't be traded for anything. I'm so happy I was fortunate enough to have had this adventure. I consider myself lucky and will always be thankful for the times we had at sea and at anchor in all of the beautiful places we got to visit. If I had it to do again, would I? Yes, by all means. It was difficult and sometimes scary and many times exhausting. It was always fun. In retrospect, even the storms and gales and close calls with ships were certainly invigorating and looking back, even fun. For now, I will try to stay happy on land. I can't say we won't be thinking about our next adventure. Maybe I'll continue this saga inside our RV, touring Europe.

Thank you all for joining us and keeping us company out there. I hope you are all happy and if not, that you go make an adventure for yourselves.

Best wishes.
